"Just my mom. I'll think of an excuse." She said.
"What about your dad?" he asked.
"He works in the army. Started not to long ago." She said.
"That's cool." He started the engine, and drove off.
"So, is the school always so mean to new people?" she asked.
"Depends on the person. Some, like Allie and her friends are. Then there are the other people, maybe like 25% of us aren't." Robert said.
"Well, that's reasuring." She said.
"Yeah, don't worry about it though." He told her.
"Okay." She said.
He drove her around all the major stores for school, groceries, and everything else. He stoped at a favorite place to eat of his.
"So, where exactally are we?" she asked.
"Don't worry about. I'll show you the way back." he smiled to her.
"Really, thanks a lot for showing me around." she said.
"No problem. Is there anywhere you need to go to before you get home?" he asked.
"Yeah. I told mom I'd stop by the store to pick some things up." she said.
"Okay. So, where have you lived?" he asked.
"Everywhere. Both my mom and dad are somewhat expats because of jobs. I've been to Germany, Spain, America, almost everywhere." she said.
"Really? The farthest I've ever been was Spain." he said.
"Yeah. For graduation, Dad's coming home for a while, and we're going to tour the west coast of America." she said.
"I have no idea what I'm doing for graduation. What are you majoring in?" he asked.
"Fashion. You?" she asked him.
"Human Resources Management. What kind of music are you into?" he asked.
"Right now, I'm obsessed with grunge music." she told him.
"Cool. I'd have to say for me, rock. I'm also playing in some local groups just for fun. Not anything serious." he said.
"I've always been playing in something since I was little. Huge music loving family. Its almost impossible for there to be no music on somewhere in the house." she said.
After they finished eating, they headed over to the store.
"Okay, what do you need?" he asked.
"Lets see, soap, bath and dish. Tooth paste, milk, and certain foods." she said.
Okay..." he said, on about the soap.
"When you move as much as I do, its not that common to carry soap with you." she said.
"I'll just have to take your word for that." he laughed.
They went around, getting everything she needed. When they were done, she called her mom to tell her she was on her way home.
"Yeah, I just finished at the store." she said.
"How'd you get there?" her mom asked.
"Got a ride from a friend." she said.
"Oh, your first day, and you've already got a friend. Who is it?" her mom asked.
"His name is Robert." she said.
"Oh, so its a guy?" her mom said.
"Yes mom."
"When will you be home?"
"We're leaving now. We'll be there in about ten minutes." she said.
"Well, I wont be homw for another few hours, so invite him and make him at home." her mom said.
"Will do. Bye." she said and hung up.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Yeah." she said. They got in his car, and she gave him the directions to her house. They pulled up in her driveway.
It was a fairly large house, but it was quiet old, so it costed them about the same any other house would.
"Nice house you have here." he said.
"Yeah. Its pretty old. Everything functions well, they're just old fashioned. Care to come in?" she asked.
"Sure." he said. They got out of the car, grabbed the groceries, and went in.
"Mom wont be home for a while." Sharon told him as she put the items away.
Robert was looking at all the pictures on the counter. "Who's this?" he asked picking up a framed picture of her and the family.
"My mom, dad, me, and my brother Jason. He's in college." she said.
She showed him around the house, then they did the little homework they had, then sat in the family room and played around with all the music there was. At about six, her mom got home.
"Hey Sharon." her mom said.
"Hi mom." she said. "This is Robert." she introduced.
"Its lovely to meet you." her mom said.
"You too." he said. He looked at the clock. "Well, its time I;d better go. See you tomorrow." he said as he waved, then left to go home.
"He seems nice." her mom said.
"Yeah. I know." she said.
"So tell me about your first day of school." her mom said.
Sharon told her about the day, excluding the mean people, and falling down the stairs.
It was getting late, and Sharon decided to go to bed. In the morning, she put a long skirt on to hide the bruises and scratches. She wore a white skirt with brown boots, a while shirt with a black long fleece coat on. She grabbed her bag, told her mom that she was leaving and walked to school.
She was across the street from the school when she saw Allie and her gang, and remembered yesterday. If Allie liked Robert, then she would've found out she spent about six hours with him the previous day. She did all she could to hid the fear as she walked by her.
